Your Daily Ayurvedic Rhythm
I have been studying Ayurveda for a couple of years and I love this article on MindBodyGreen about aligning with your Ayurvedic rhythm:
I enjoyed the article, I'm thinking though that in Ayurveda we connect with a certain Dosha so I'm surprised that they are saying that this plan would work for everyone. The idea of simplicity and connecting with natural need rather then all the extras is the message I'm hearing, but what do you think about that? Wouldn't each Dosha need something different?
Claire, you are certainly right that Ayurvedic solutions are related to specific Doshas (constitutions). I think the article is a nice jumping off point. It is true that times of the day have their own dominant Doshas, so the general routine is probably helpful for most people (over the conventional routines). The next step, of course, would be for people to determine their own Dosha and customize their routines to make it more applicable to them. I think of the article's suggestions as the base of the cake, and customization as the icing on the cake.
